The small sample, noted
First, a fair note: twenty-one reviews is a small sample, carrying limited statistical weight. The supreme genius
“Leonardo” evokes, above all, the great Leonardo da Vinci – perhaps the supreme genius in all of human history, and the very embodiment of the Italian Renaissance. Leonardo (1452-1519) was a genuinely astonishing figure – the great painter of the Mona Lisa and the Last Supper (two of the most famous paintings in all the world), but also a brilliant scientist, engineer, anatomist, inventor and thinker of extraordinary range and genius. He was the very archetype of the “Renaissance man” – the universal genius, brilliant in art and science alike, endlessly curious, endlessly inventive, one of the greatest and most wide-ranging minds in all of human history. To bear the name “Leonardo” is to evoke this supreme genius – the great artist and thinker, the embodiment of the Renaissance, one of the greatest minds humanity has ever produced. The Italian art of good living

Italy is one of the great homes of beauty and good living – the land of the Renaissance and its supreme art, of extraordinary beauty and culture, and of great food and wine and the whole art of la dolce vita, the sweet life of beauty, pleasure and good living. And Italy is, of course, one of the great wine nations – producing some of the world’s most beloved and celebrated wines, from every corner of the beautiful peninsula. To name a wine bar “Leonardo” is thus to fly this whole glorious Italian heritage – the supreme art and genius of the Renaissance, the beauty and culture of Italy, the great Italian wines and the art of good living. There is genuine beauty and appeal in it – the great genius, the glorious Italian heritage, the fine Italian wines and good living.
