A roughed-up Victorian corner pub on Vanston Place founded by ex-rugby pros, with 20+ craft beers, Wolfpack’s own brews, a leafy garden and boutique hotel rooms
Wolfpack holds five hundred and fifteen reviews and a 4.4 – a strong score on a good sample – and it is a genuinely stylish and lively modern pub: a roughed-up Victorian corner pub on Vanston Place, founded by ex-rugby professionals, with 20-plus craft beers, Wolfpack’s own brews, a leafy garden and boutique hotel rooms.
The rugby-founded craft beer group
Wolfpack has a genuinely distinctive founding story: the Wolfpack Lager venture was founded by two ex-rugby union professionals, Alistair Hargreaves and Chris Wyles – and it has grown into a small, well-regarded London craft-beer group with its own brews and a handful of pubs. The Fulham venue is its third site (opening in June 2021), joining the original Queens Park taproom (in a former mechanic’s garage) and the West Hampstead bar. There is genuine character to it – the ex-rugby-pro founders, the own-brew craft-beer pedigree, the growing and well-regarded group. It brings real craft-beer credentials and a genuine “social animals” spirit to Fulham – the serious own-brewed craft beer, the lively sporty character, the well-run group pedigree. There is genuine quality and character to it – the rugby-founded group, the own craft brews, the lively welcoming spirit.
The roughed-up Victorian pub
Wolfpack Fulham occupies a genuinely handsome building – a large Victorian corner pub on Vanston Place, a short walk from Fulham Broadway tube, thoughtfully re-imagined by Ellis Design Studio into a “roughed-up,” rustic, rugged answer to the traditional neighbourhood boozer. Because the Victorian building is a noteworthy architectural landmark, the designers carefully preserved its historic features while creating a deliberately rugged, industrial vibe – a feature tap wall with laser-cut metal detailing showcasing the beers, a pewter bar top, blackened steel joinery and industrial meshes. There is genuine style to it – the handsome preserved Victorian building, the deliberately roughed-up rugged design, the striking feature tap wall. It is a genuinely stylish and characterful modern pub – the historic Victorian bones, the rugged industrial re-imagining, the striking beer-focused design.
The beer, food, garden and rooms
Wolfpack delivers genuine quality across the board. The beer is the heart of it – 20-plus craft beers on that striking tap wall, including Wolfpack’s own Lager, Pilsner and Session IPA, plus rotating guest taps, alongside a curated wine list. The food is crowd-pleasing street-style fare – smash burgers, chicken wings, homemade pizza, bottomless brunch. There is a lovely leafy beer garden for al-fresco drinking, state-of-the-art screens for live sport, a Monday quiz, private event spaces (from “the Den” to the garden, up to 200 standing), and – a genuine bonus – six individually-designed boutique hotel rooms upstairs, making it a proper pub-with-rooms. There is genuine quality to it – the 20-plus craft beers and own brews, the good street food, the leafy garden, the boutique rooms, the live sport. Its strong 4.4 across a good sample confirms it – a genuinely good, much-loved pub. There is real quality and character in the whole thing.
