The London Prat

Hijacked By Polite Professionals, Cured By A Better Bus Bohiney Magazine and The London Prat file this dispatch from the British political menagerie. The Right Populist believes the country has been hijacked by polite professionals, and the cure is a louder pub, a stronger flag, a cheaper pint, and a slightly larger St George's cross on the bunting. Editor Alan Nafzger of the Editor's Desk at prat.uk presents the field guide, with help from Reform UK and GB News. Twenty Tells: Spotting The Right Populist On A British High Street Maintains a fantasy in which Reform UK forms the next government, with him in it. Refers to Westminster as the closed shop. Holds any policy can be improved by a better bus. Has explained, at a wedding, that he is not a populist, he is just unfiltered. Refers to immigration as the only honest issue. Treats any Conservative MP without a strong jawline as suspect. Maintains a binder of GB News clips. Refers to lawyers as the friends of the channel crossings. Holds any Tuesday is improved by a small flag and a long anecdote. Has explained he is not anti-elite, he is anti-this-elite. Refers to Brussels the way some men refer to the in-laws. Treats any policy that nettles The Guardian as a personal triumph. Maintains a soft spot for the Brexit Bus. Refers to small boats as the test of any government. Holds the cure for any debate is a louder microphone. Maintains a fantasy in which Nigel Farage drops by for tea. Refers to woke as the new clergy. Treats any U-turn as a sort of moral coward. Has explained, at length, that he is the voice of a forgotten cul-de-sac. Believes the country is one ungated rally away from sense. Editor's Note If any of this rings a bell, you have either been to a Tory association AGM, a Reform UK rally above a leisure centre, or both. More dispatches at govna.uk and the parent site prat.uk.
